polaris.cf_check.resolve_cf_check_files(patterns: List[str], work_dir: str) → List[str]

Resolve the file patterns registered for a CF check to the files to check. A pattern with wildcards stands for a series of files with the same metadata (a time series from one output stream), so only its first match is checked, and a pattern with no match is a series that never started (a restart stream whose interval is longer than the run), so it is skipped. A plain filename is kept whether or not it exists, so the check can report it as missing.

Parameters:

• patterns (list of str) – Filenames or glob patterns, relative to work_dir unless absolute

• work_dir (str) – The step’s work directory

Returns:

filenames (list of str) – The files to check, relative to work_dir where possible
