polaris.cf.add_lat_lon_attrs(ds: Dataset) → Dataset

Fill in long_name, standard_name and units for the lat and lon coordinates of a dataset on a regular latitude-longitude grid, without changing any attribute they already have.

Parameters:

ds (xarray.Dataset) – A dataset about to be written

Returns:

ds (xarray.Dataset) – A shallow copy of the dataset with the attributes added
